Textile Technology (1st year)

An understanding of the nature and behavior of various textiles and fabrics is fundamental to the designer's ability to make intelligent design decisions and ensure that the finished product reflects the original concept as closely as possible. The Textile Studies course introduces students to the broad range of fabrics and yarns, both natural and man-made, and their characteristics.

Computer Skills (1st year)

In the first year, Basic Computer Skills introduces students to basic computer literacy, an essential in both the office and creative design environment.

Art (1st year)

The most important thing for fashion designers is to be able to put on paper what they visualize and we found that introducing the art module gives them greater confidence and ability to express their creative ideas.

Business Skills, Marketing and Buying (2nd year)

Students are introduced to basic business concepts, from an overview of the fundamentals of running their own business through the skills and qualities required in the broader world of the fashion industry. They are actively encouraged in their own entrepreneurial endeavors. The course includes a comprehensive introduction to the field of Fashion Buying.

Textile Design (2nd & 3rd year)

In the second year we introduce various textile design techniques which they apply in the third year to their ranges. The Textile design component allows students to discover practically various printing, dyeing, texturing and molding techniques.

Evening and Bridal wear, Lingerie (3rd year)

Students take a closer look at one of the "showpieces" of fashion design and learn the intricacies and special skills involved in this area, such as lace- molding, beading, chiffon crushing, etc. Students research the fascinating world of lingerie, explore the latest techniques and produce lingerie of the highest quality.

Tailoring & Leatherwork (3rd Year)

Related to the Garment Construction course, this course acquaints students with the history and techniques of tailoring, investigating traditional methods and their adaptation to new skills and materials etc. in a practical context. Special leatherwork techniques are introduces and applied to a garment.

Creative Computing (1st, 2nd and 3rd year)

In the first year, the course introduces the students to basic computer literacy and skills, an essential in both the office and the creative design environment. Thereafter, they learn how to employ the computer as a powerful tool for communicating their visions and concepts by creating and manipulating images, layouts, labels etc.
